The hilltop village of Kuranda can be reached with an incredible mountain railway which will take you up over the tree line. From Kurunda, visitors can take the Sky Rail down which treats them to a fantastic voyage through the rainforest and the mountains. This incredible feat of human engineering allows tourists to sit in gondolas which hang down over the tracks to witness the canopy of the rainforest up close and personal.


Cairns is rarely given the recognition that it deserves for its incredible markets, most weekends many areas of the city come to life with fresh fruit and produce, handmade crafts, freshly ground coffee and flowers as well as a whole host natural goods for you to buy in the wide range of markets. Route’s markets in the center of the city for example has over 180 stalls where you can buy your wares and fresh goods and the craft Esplanade market takes place on the waterfront every Saturday.
